Everything You Need to Know Before Choosing a Stairlift
How much does a stairlift cost?
The cost depends on the shape and length of your staircase, the model you choose and any optional features. Straight stairlifts usually cost less than curved systems because they use a standard rail. After a free home survey, we give you a clear, fixed written quote with no hidden extras.
Do you offer free home surveys?
Yes. DHG Services provides free, no-obligation home surveys nationwide. One of our experienced surveyors will assess your staircase, talk through your needs and recommend the best options, with no pushy sales tactics.
How quickly can you install a stairlift?
Many straight stairlifts can be installed within a few days of your order, subject to availability. Curved stairlifts need a made-to-measure rail and normally take a little longer. Once your survey is complete, we’ll give you an accurate expected installation date.
Can a stairlift be fitted to any staircase?
Stairlifts can be fitted to most straight, curved and multi-flight staircases. The rail attaches to the stair treads rather than the wall, so installation usually causes very little disruption. During your survey we’ll check available space, staircase width and access at the top and bottom.
Will the stairlift still work during a power cut?
Yes. Modern stairlifts run from rechargeable batteries, kept charged from the mains while the lift is parked. This means your stairlift can normally complete several journeys during a temporary power cut, provided it’s been left on charge beforehand.
Do your stairlifts include a warranty?
Yes. Every stairlift we supply and fit includes a comprehensive warranty. The exact cover depends on the model and whether it’s new or reconditioned. We’ll explain the warranty clearly before you order, and back it with dependable aftercare.
