A dumbwaiter is a compact goods lift used to move food and other light goods safely between floors, saving you from carrying loads up and down stairs. They are ideal for restaurants, pubs, hotels and homes, and can be built to serve anywhere from 2 to 30 floors with single, through or adjacent door entry.
Are your dumbwaiters made to measure?
Yes. Every dumbwaiter and kitchen lift we supply is measured and made bespoke for your building and needs, with each project carefully planned to ensure the upmost quality first time. Car widths are available from 350mm to 1000mm, depths from 320mm to 1000mm and heights from 600mm to 1200mm, with a maximum travel of 120 metres.
How much weight can a dumbwaiter carry?
Our dumbwaiters are built to carry loads from 20kg up to 300kg, depending on the model and specification. Every unit is complete with a self-supporting galvanised steel structure to maintain stability at all times, so it moves your loads safely and reliably.

How long does a dumbwaiter take to make?
Every dumbwaiter is tailor-made to your specification within 3 to 6 weeks, depending on the model. Once we have measured and planned your lift, we will give you an accurate expected timescale for manufacture and installation.
Do your lifts meet safety standards?
Yes. All of our Service and Goods lifts comply with either EN81-3 (Electric and Hydraulic Service Lifts) or EN81-31 (Accessible Goods Only Lifts). The attendant option also complies with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC as a complete lift with a Type Certificate.
Can a dumbwaiter carry people between floors?
No. A dumbwaiter is designed only for moving food, drinks and light goods between floors, and it must never be used to carry people. If you need help moving safely around your home, a straight stairlift may suit a simple staircase, while a curved stairlift is made to follow bends, corners and landings. For step-free travel between floors, a through-floor lift can carry a wheelchair user or seated passenger, while one of our home lifts may provide a more spacious and permanent solution.
